Our Story
Embark on a sonic journey with Science of Sound Productions. A fusion of passion and beats brought to life by Chris, aka After Dvrk, and Nikkie, also known as Nikkie Nocturnal. Our story began in November 2018 at the iconic Russel in Detroit, where our shared love for music ignited the spark that birthed Science of Sound Productions. In February 2019, we made waves with our debut show, 'Breakout,' at the legendary Leland City Club, featuring Sluggo as the headliner. With two dynamic stages hosting house, dubstep and trap DJs, we transformed the Leland into an immersive experience, setting the stage for our unique journey.
The momentum continued with 'Bass Theory,' our second show at the Leland, featuring headliners, Trollphace and Azgard. Two stages, pulsating bass, and an electrifying atmosphere defined the night. As fate would have it, the pandemic hit, putting a pause on events. However, in October 2023, After Dvrk took Science of Sound to Orlando, where techno reigns supreme. Our debut show at Optiview 360 marked the beginning of our weekly Friday night Quantum Pulse, showcasing a rotation of talented DJs. Step into the realm of Nikkie Nocturnal, the visionary force behind the beats. Formerly known as Hypnotic, Nikkie has been a driving force in Detroit's house and techno scene since 2015. Her sonic journey reached new heights in 2020 with the release of "Take it Higher," a single that resonates across streaming platforms, offering a taste of her unique sound.
Beyond the DJ booth, Nikkie, alongside After Dvrk, co-founded Science of Sound Productions in 2019, a platform that has curated unforgettable events, transcending boundaries and redefining the music experience. After Dvrk
Dive into the universe of After Dvrk, the musical alter ego of Chris James. With a deep passion for House and Dark Techno, After Dvrk's journey began at 17, DJing at college parties in Detroit. Influenced by the originators of Detroit house and underground Techno, he's not only made a name for himself as a DJ and producer but has also been a driving force behind Science of Sound Productions since its inception in 2019. Beyond the beats, After Dvrk's impact extends to major music projects, events, and investments, solidifying his presence in the electronic music scene.
